Can I keep my current Lexmark printer driver and software on my computer while I download driver/software to connect my HP officejet pro 8699 plus, in case the new download doesnt work? Then I'd have no printer at all. Thanks.

I had asked about connecting my Dad's HP all in one 8600 printer that I inherited, to my computer. The printer no longer has a download for the xp, so I'll use my newer Windows 7 64 bit computer wired. Wish me luck. Are there instructions for connecting all those wires? Thank you.

Thanks, but my windows xp is 64 bits and 32 might not work. Even the 8700 series does not have a driver for my computer. Time to buy all new hardware?

Can I run my Dad's HP office jet pro 8600 plus all in one printer on my HP windows xp 64 bit computer? Where can I get the software/driver cd? I dont see it on the list on the HP site . Or, is it time to buy a new computer and new printer?
