News Huawei launches another 7nm processor built by sanctioned Chinese fab SMIC — Kirin 9010 builds on previous design

Might be good to do a little more surface level research before an article!! The SC and MC are up a bit, while the freq_max is down. This is because of its new Taishan architecture, roughly 25% IPC gains with the clock loss nets about a 10% performance gain. 9010 is really just minor...

News U.S. lawmakers annoyed with Huawei's latest laptop with Intel Meteor Lake CPUs

Not sure what they're worried about... These are consumer chips for god's sake. Every chip sold is direct profit for the U.S.... Cool technology in the laptop btw, the screen weight and thermal engineering are all pretty amazing from an engineering standpoint.

News Software allows CUDA code to run on AMD and Intel GPUs without changes — ZLUDA is back but both companies ditched it, nixing future updates

The overall vibe of this article is horrible. OSS is run based upon contributors, it by no means has been signaled to not be discontinued. Calling it dead in the water is a really distasteful take especially after the efforts of the developer.

News South Korean chipmaking tool firms increase their sales into China, capitalizing on U.S. sanctions against the PRC

Honestly good for them, I don't like the idea of the US being in charge of other countries supply chains. The US shouldn't be able to threaten NL or JP for its own personal goals.
