Figured it out! It turns out that Curve Optimizer in RM was the ultimate culprit for my random crashing issues, despite being stable for quite some time. As for the BIOS, using the Q-Flash feature instead of the BIOS menu worked!
The title says it all, unfortunately. I wanted to try updating my BIOS since I ran into some weird behavior rather suddenly, such as my crashing/display going black and my peripherals cutting out, and I have had luck doing that in the past. I was successfully able to update from F31 to F32...
I tried repairing it with some old install media I had, but it was for 10 instead of 11, and I had no luck. I'm working on getting new install media from the MS site in case that was the issue. Do you have any other ideas in the meantime?
Ok great. the cloning process went well, and I was using everything fine, but the clone disabled BitLocker on the new drive and I just went to re-enable it. The process seemed to go well, and I got my identifier and recovery key. I restarted my PC when it requested it and now it is saying that...
The title says it all, unfortunately. I recently swapped my Windows over to a larger SSD. The cloning process disabled BitLocker on the new drive and I just went to re-enable it. The process seemed to go well, and I got my identifier and recovery key. I restarted my PC when it requested it and...
Sounds good. I may go the bigger drive route then. (I have a ton of game mods for older games that don't like being messed with lol) Do you happen to have a recommendation for good cloning software? Ideally, something that is free?
So, I've been running my system off a 1TB SSD for some time now, and I want to expand my storage without just swapping out the original SSD and having to go through the trouble of reinstalling all of my stuff. My motherboard has several M.2 slots, so I have been considering RAID, but haven't...
They aren't doing firmware updates for the board anymore, so I'm actually in a position where stuff like ethernet seems to not work on newer Windows versions.
Hi all, I wanted to ask for opinions on an upgrade. Currently, I am running an x370 board that is getting a bit long in the tooth. It is no longer getting firmware updates so support for some of its features is fading fast, and so I wanted to upgrade. Is it worth waiting for AMD's DDR 5...
As an update, my friend's dad has gotten a new laptop, and the plan has shifted gears to recovering the data from the old drive. Pretty sure the plan now is to strip the drive and put it in an enclosure and try that way.
Mixing and matching RAM can be weird, and generally, it is best to avoid it. This is especially true imo when you are mixing RAM speeds because it throttles the faster RAM.
