I know the unit comes with a single core MK-36 Turion CPU. I want to upgrade the laptop to a dual core and in the user guide it says ML-50, ML-52, ML-56, ML-60 are acceptable CPUs - however when I look them up I see TL models not ML model CPUs. Will TL series CPUs work? Also, on a side note -...

Does your motherboard have the ability to load bios while running Windows? If so I would check the heat of the CPU there. Both of my MSI board allow bios to run inside Windows - so I do not need to reboot/shutdown the computer.

Have you checked in Task Manager what is using all the memory? I found I had an issue with my 6 gb laptop with a fresh install of Windows 8/8.1 and it turns out it was the pre-installed Norton Anti-virus causing most of the problem (it is a Gateway, so the "fresh" install is a re-image with the...

Just in case you have not solved the issue... I have heard that the AMD APU's have some issue where the temperatures are often misread with software. I would check it in the bios if you have that ability and see what it shows there. Also if you can spare the extra thermal paste you might check...

I highly recommend the AMD line of graphics cards - in my experience they have been doing much better than the nVidia cards recently. I use a R7 250 which is techically an upgrade to your card, but if you can afford the jump I would recommend pretty much any R9 instead or else a R7 260+. Also...
