    Just make a system image before you upgrade and make sure all your hardware has Windows 10 support. If it does, jump on in, test it out, and if you hate it, you can re image back to what you have in less than 10mins

    I assume you were using System Info/MSINFO to check the cards VRAM? Last I checked, that tool is still 32bit based and wont report any card over 2GB VRAM correctly. For Windows 7, make sure you run DXDIAG in 64bit

    You can right click on Start, select Event Viewer, expand Application and Services logs, Microsoft, Windows, Diagnostics-Performance and click Operational and usually windows will list programs that cause Windows to take longer to boot/shutdown
