Just make a system image before you upgrade and make sure all your hardware has Windows 10 support.
If it does, jump on in, test it out, and if you hate it, you can re image back to what you have in less than 10mins
A lot of people over on the Geforce Forums have been reporting issues of black screens after booting. My best advice would be to use 362.00 WHQL until this issue is sorted out.
Make sure you clean install those drivers using your method of choice to avoid any other potential issues...
I assume you were using System Info/MSINFO to check the cards VRAM? Last I checked, that tool is still 32bit based and wont report any card over 2GB VRAM correctly.
For Windows 7, make sure you run DXDIAG in 64bit
