How to change boot priority without using BIOS?

I have recently rebuilt my PC and have a fresh instal of Win7 64bit on a brand new 1tb drive. Once it was all setup, I plugged in my old 500gb drive from my old system to copy some files over and keep as a separate backup drive, however, even thought it's not 'diskC' the PC keeps trying to...

Thanks for confirming what I feared. Looks like i'll have to look for a cheap monitor just to access my BIOS!

Displaying DVI to VGA, is it even possible?

I have a problem with not being able to display my BIOS, due to the resolution (MSI 970 Gaming motherboard) not displaying on my LCD HD TV (The TV is a Toshiba 48L 1433d) via a Radeon HD6950 card. See this thread here for full details...

New MSI 970 mb sometimes won't post

This is a pain, just built a new system due to my old MB refusing to post and now my brand new one is acting up! The ONLY original components are now the DVD drive, Radeon 6950 card and the case. Band new 650w PSU, HD, CPU (AMD FX 6350) and RAM (G Skill DDRS1600 8gb) and yet sometimes when I...

How to change MSI BIOS screen resolution?

Thanks for the most detailed and informative response so far. The TV itself is less than 3 months old and isn't even an old model, so I'd be surprised if it's that at fault but hey, what do I know? ;) I am already trying to get answers direct from MSI, I have asked the same question on their...

How to change MSI BIOS screen resolution?

I fear you may be right but this seems crazy to me. We've had LCD TV's for many years now, I'm sure they are the monitor of choice for most PC users these days yet modern non DOS based BIOS displays require I go and buy a dedicated monitor? Crazy! Question, will getting a DVI adaptor to plug it...

How to change MSI BIOS screen resolution?

The more I research this, the more frustrated I get! I have found many other instances of this kind of thing, both on here and on other forums but none of them have bothered to put their solution and just left the threads to taunt me!

    Building a PC = Confused

If you want ot play any kind of games that are more involved than solitare, you NEED to get a dedicated graphics card. Intergrated graphics are mainly for systems that are not for gaming and will cope just fine with everyday tasks like spreadsheets, etc.

How to change MSI BIOS screen resolution?

No, I've tried messing with the tv settings but all I have is things like 16:9, 4:3, etc. I've also looked at options in the Catalyst control centre for the graphics card, but nothing is obvious and I can't see how any changes made in Windows can be passed onto the BIOS.

AMD FX8350 +MSI 970 GAMING MOBO- GPU for StarCraft 2???

I have a similar setup with the 6350 and 970 gaming. I would say you need to definitely upgrade your PSU specs, a 500w won't accommodate most uptodate graphics cards. Also, when buying your PSU, make sure it has two PCI-E power outlets, 6+2 and 6 pin plugs. Most big cards need this to run yet...

How to change MSI BIOS screen resolution?

Wasn't sure if I should post here or in Graphics and Displays, so feel free to move id required. Anyway, I have a brand new MSI 970 gaming MB and although the system is installed and running perfectly with Win 7 64bit, I can't access the BIOS. The problem is that resolution is somehow far to...

Where do I connect Power SW, Power LED, Reset SW, HDD LED on my motherboard?

Do you have the manual? I'm guessing not but worth asking. Have a search online for it. In general though, the connections are usually at the bottom right of the MB and will be a row of tiny pins. Usually they are labled on the 'board so give it a close look.

    Is my PSU dead?

I'm in Spain, got the main components on a Spanish site who were very reasonable (the Euro being so low against the pound is really helping!) but as I don't want to wait another few days for delivery I'm going to go into town and buy a PSU off the shelf, I just hope they have one with two PCI-e...
