I currently have a phenom ii X4 970 and was wondering if I should upgrade my CPU (I will also have to upgrade my mobo as it is only an am3 board) so should I upgrade yet? and if so, what should I upgrade to?

At the moment I have an old phenom ii x4 970 3.5 ghz and I was wondering what the highest end GPU I could use without any significant bottlenecks is as my GTX 480 is just not cutting it anymore.

I am on somewhat of a tight budget and was wondering what CPU I should get, I am mainly going to be playing games such as Battlefield 4 and I am not going to be doing any multitasking or editing, also I am using a GTX 770 so if I did get the i3 would it bottleneck the GPU?

I want to pair this board with an i5 4570, I checked Asus's CPU support list and it says it has been compatible since version 0306, I can't find out what BIOS is shipped with the board however, does anyone know if the i5 will work in that board?
