You're boxing shadows. Read the reports that are available online, like the one I referenced from Notebookcheck, and you will see that they used far more then Geekbench to test. These are facts. Get over it.

Mmmm... Interesting planet you are living on... From Notebookcheck.... On performance: "The M3 generation already offered extremely good single-core performance, leaving the competition from AMD, Intel and Qualcomm in the dust. Only Intel's new desktop processor, the Core Ultra 9 285K, was...

News Apple's redesigned M4, M4 Pro-powered Mac Mini is just 5 x 5 inches, packs up to 14 cores, puts the power button on the bottom

Well, 5 inches square and 2 high in a housing that can host a 14 core processor, 10 of which have more perf than the top line Intel chip, provide T5, and 275GB/s of memory bandwidth and NOT have the thing spontaneiously combust, is well, nice….

News Apple's redesigned M4, M4 Pro-powered Mac Mini is just 5 x 5 inches, packs up to 14 cores, puts the power button on the bottom

Errrr, Apple have “made their own NUC” for like about the last 15 years - this is an iteration of an established NUC platform.…. This is just smaller and faster than anything else out there. By quite a long way actually….

Security for one. Meaningful updates, regardless of carrier, for 6 years is another.

News Apple M4 benchmarks suggest it is the new single-core performance champ, beating Intel's Core i9-14900KS — incredible results of 3,800+ posted

State your sources. And your logic is obviously flawed. Given the 14900K has 25bn transistors in a much less efficient process node, it is likely larger than the 28bn chip of the base M4 which is on a 2nd gen 3nm process node, so it is highly likely that the Intel is bigger than the M4. The M4...

News Apple M4 benchmarks suggest it is the new single-core performance champ, beating Intel's Core i9-14900KS — incredible results of 3,800+ posted

Oh please -the 14900K is a 125w part and has a 265w turbo mode - to say nothing of the system. And those are Intel "watts" and get a sense of humour. please.

News Apple M4 benchmarks suggest it is the new single-core performance champ, beating Intel's Core i9-14900KS — incredible results of 3,800+ posted

No, most choose it because it does the job. I can get an all-day battery life with no decrease in performance, even when under a heavy imaging workload on site (and away from power points). I'll take a walled garden anyway, if it can deliver the results with none of the trade-offs I was used to...

News Apple M4 benchmarks suggest it is the new single-core performance champ, beating Intel's Core i9-14900KS — incredible results of 3,800+ posted

Yes you should. A battery-powered tablet beating a 400w desktop processor. And 10nm?? That says a LOT more about Intel and its inbility to provide any real leadership. Whcih has been the case for, let's see, about the last TEN years.

News Apple M4 benchmarks suggest it is the new single-core performance champ, beating Intel's Core i9-14900KS — incredible results of 3,800+ posted

They missed two huge advantages of the Intel 14900 processor that always gets overlooked - as Geekbench doesn’t really mention it. 1) The ability to heat a room, and 2) Helping those with tinnitus by providing a stronger background noise…

News Apple Spent $1 Billion to Tape Out New M3 Processors: Analyst

Tune in. I'm not talking on the basis of Apple's statement which obviously doesn't split out desktop units, but on the basis of IDC. The numbers came from the IDC 3rd quarterly report.

News Apple Spent $1 Billion to Tape Out New M3 Processors: Analyst

You miss a lot of stuff, don't you? You said "So Apple's at the time brand new CPU built on TSMC's world leading 5nm node and tuned specifically for frequently used applications like image processing beat Intel's last 14 nm CPU base on an architecture released in 2015. That's not nearly the...

News Apple Spent $1 Billion to Tape Out New M3 Processors: Analyst

Sigh - try not to let your bias get in the way... Some facts: 1) the previous YoY quarter was a blockbuster for Apple (release of M-series in volume), so the comparator is poor 2) The overall market declined by 7.6% 3) Dell , Asus and Lenovo also declined, although not as much as Apple 4)...
