Thus far, not so good. I got the following error: Install Realtek HD Audio Driver Failure !! [Error Code : -0001] No driver supported in this driver package. After confirming it, the installation wizard just quit. Installing the graphics driver didn't help, either.

I'm using a 15-ce0xx HP Omen. Today, I suddenly found that the machine couldn't output any sound, whether by speakers or headphones. The sound settings screen says "no output devices detected." I did get an automatic Windows update, but I can't remember if I was able to play sound after that...

My mother uses (very sporadically) an old iMac for e-mail and Etsy purposes. The problem is, we don't want to be without anti-virus security, and the iMac in question apparently can't be updated past 10.6.8. Is there still security software out there that works with that OS?

Although this time it only persists for a short while after I take it out of sleep mode. Starts as a...thrumming, I think...then adds a light rattling noise. Any suspicions as to what this is about? The fan is whatever is built into the usual Toshiba Satellite C855-S5350.
