    What Desktop Technologies to Implement

Although that would solve issues because no one would know how to use the computer, so no one would break it... I do have to follow what the corporate office says some what. I am currently trying to find if there is any good "self healing" software for Office and if it is scalable for other...

    What Desktop Technologies to Implement

So, I was given a green light at work to implement any and all technology I want. Now I need to figure out what technologies to implement. I did a quick search on Google (desktop technologies) and did not seem to pull up anything I wanted. What would you guys look into to implement?

We Interview EFiX Creators: OS X on PC

Is it now? Thanks, I didn't know. I would love to have time to watch a movie... sadly full time work and school prohibit me from doing so. I will take your recommendation and watch it as soon as possible. SPAZTIC OUT!

    Nvidia Phsx with ATI Card

    Thanks, forgot about that.

    Nvidia Phsx with ATI Card

Havoc is made by Intel. Not only games use this engine as the de-facto physics engine, but also Hollywood or anyone else who wants to use realistic physics in their presentation (of any sort).

    Nvidia Phsx with ATI Card

Yes. There is a small gorup of people working on the cuda package for ATi cards, but they said they wont work on the 48XX series until ATi provides them samples. So, yes, ATi cards can run Physx without a problem. My question is how much longer until drivers have the Havok physics with the...

HD4850 not working with Vista 64bit, Suggestions?

The other issue I can think of is that you may not have fully disabled the nvidia drivers. When I think about it, I had a slight issue with my 4870x2 when I first installed it. I didn't think about this until just now (thus I am posting). I uninstalled my Nvidia drivers, then shut off my PC...

    fanless Intel Pentium D?

What about a TRUE? Shouldn't a cooler like that be more than enough to handle the thermals fanless. You can use it fanless on a quad core as long as you don't overclock.

SLI mobo configuration and ATI crossfire

he wont see the benefits of the 4870x2 unless he plays at high resolutions. Yes, at those resolutions are a little low for the 4870x2, but he will be able to play anything at max+++.

    4870X2, Q6600, 1680 x 1050

If you are not running at 1920x1080 or higher, a 4870 should be fine. The 1 GB is a little better due to more ram and I believe the up the clocks on that card as well.

SLI mobo configuration and ATI crossfire

The 4870x2 takes only 1 PCB. It is not like the GX2 from Nvidia which as two PCB. ATI does things quite different. Yes the 4870x2 may be overkill, but the performance he will reap from that card will be mind blowing.

    4870X2, Q6600, 1680 x 1050

I agree with hairycat101. I would never buy used parts from anyone, ever. It's just safer that way. But for the price, that is great! If they can prove to you that it still works or if you can use it to ensure that it works before paying them then I don't see what the big problem would be...

OpenGL 3 & DirectX 11: The War Is Over

Hey Ian, Thanks for that update. That is pretty interesting information you have there. You were able to debunk the claims that 2000 is faster than XP, so that's good. That does make sense as there was many a optimization for gaining in XP over 2000. But my only concerns is with 2000 being...

SLI mobo configuration and ATI crossfire

If you think you will SLI later on or you want to run crossfire, why not just get a 4870x2? That is "crossfire on a stick". Although I will still hold on saying it is only a single card, people will disagree with me. It has 2 4870 GPUs 2 GB of DDR5 (1 GB usable), 1600 cores, and is slightly...

SLI mobo configuration and ATI crossfire

If you just want to run 1 3850, then you wont have a problem. You will if you try to run crossfire as it is a SLI board. Which raises the question, would it not work? Even though it is an sli board, would Nvidia really handicap their boards to only run sli. Isn't crossfire free for anyone...
