    alignment/deity question

Actually, I did find one instance where you can move in a Lawful direction. In SOU you visit the desert town and there is a quest where three townspeople believe you are their god incarnate. If you speak to each of them and tell them the truth you can earn at least one point towards Lawful.

    6600 GT AGP cooling

I agree with your recommendation. I put the Iceberq 5 on my XFX 6600GT AGP and am very happy with it. It dropped my load temperatures from 68C to 56C and is much quieter than the original fan. The spec does not say that it fits this card and yet it does perfectly. There is no discernable...

    XFX Geforce 6600 gx problem

I had the same issue with mine in D3 when I overclocked it. Returned to normal specs; worked fine. Are you OC'd?

    Problems? XFX 6600 GT AGP

I have this same card. It idles at 50C and pushes 70C under full load. Performance has been great -- 3500 in 3DMark05 and runs D3 at 45 fps in 1600x1200 (no AA). I haven't experienced any of the Windows problems you have. My main complaint is with the fan, which is a tad loud and whiny. I...

    Tearing, Vsync performance on 6800GT

The general consensus I'm getting from this and other boards is that you should use v-snych if the game displays any visible tearing with it off, provided that the frame rate does not get pushed down to unbearable levels. I'm still not convinced that vsynch is holding down the fps to the...

    Tearing, Vsync performance on 6800GT

OK, my recent experience is as follows: Playing D3 at 1600x1200 got me 46 fps, but the tearing was quite noticible. Just learned about vsync, so enabled it in the game, all other settings including res still the same. Now it looks beautiful, no tearing, but fps has dropped to 31. So if my...

    HIS 9800pro artifacts help

Have you tried downclocking your memory? I had similar problems on the HIS I bought; finally tried d/c'ing the memory and the problems went away at 300. Just got unlucky with the memory on that card, so I RMA'd it.

    Doom 3 with 6600 GT

I've run some TimeDemo1 tests on D3 since getting my new 6600GT (AGP) earlier this month. Here are the averages I got: 1024/768 4xAA -- 42 fps 1024/768 -- 73 fps 1600/1200 -- 45 fps This is on a Winchester 3000, Neo Platinum 2 with 1 GB of Corsair Value Select. Nothing overclocked. As...

No Premission to access My Other WIndows XP

Have you defined the user account you are connecting with on the target machine? It helps to have the same account (including password) on both workstations. You can then connect without having to go through the login process.

Is The Problem My Config Or My NIC?

Update: The file-sharing trick did not work, so I kept working on it. Finally I have found the answer. The problem PC has the Cisco VPN software installed on it. This program has its own firewall built into it, which defaults to on and runs whether or not the VPN software is running. I...

Is The Problem My Config Or My NIC?

Thanks for the response. No, I don't think I did. So if I re-enable simple sharing and share a folder, is that all I would have to do? I won't have to re-install XP, will I?

Is The Problem My Config Or My NIC?

The stats: Two comps, both hooked directly into a router. Machine A is new and has an integrated NIC, machine B is about 4 years old and has a Kingston KNE120TX PCI NIC. Both machines are running XPSP2. Both have simple file sharing turned off, shared drives enabled and they belong to the...
