Make sure the monitor is working properly as well. I have had similar issues like this where the monitor was at fault. Try connecting it to another computer and see if it's picture continues to display.

Yes, that PSU should power that card just fine.

6700k should be a good match for the 1080. As for the 1080ti, I am not sure but you can always oc the CPU if needed. Can I ask where you are finding these articles?

i5 4690k would probably be your best bet for that motherboard under $300. It would definitely be able to power those games. However, with that board, you wont be able to overclock but I assume that isn't an issue seeing how you plan on using a stock cooler.
