[SOLVED] Why don't more people look at clearance GPUs rather than the new lines?

I totally agree. with your comment There's no sense in spending these outrageous amounts on these newer GPUs that offer very little additional price to performance ratio compared to last generation. If it wasn't for the fact that I happened to be near a Microcenter that day and I found what was...

[SOLVED] Why don't more people look at clearance GPUs rather than the new lines?

Point taken. I happened to be near one today, otherwise it's a long drive just to get a GPU.

[SOLVED] Why don't more people look at clearance GPUs rather than the new lines?

I see articles recommending for example the NEW RTX 2070 SUPER when people don't always take into account sometimes the clearance GPUs should be options. For example I picked up an EVGA RTX 2070 XC Ultra(the one with the better TU106A die, beefier cooler and RGB lighting) for $335 at...

Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Review: Is Mainstream Ray Tracing For Real?

WTF, the RTX 2060 is barely marginally better than the GTX 1070 TI. It's more on par with it especially in games that are 1440p. Considering I paid $320 for a Zotac 1070 TI AMP Edition that overclocks like a beast I have to highly disagree. Now if you had said it was better than the GTX 1070...

    Best (Non-Gaming) Performance CPUs

I wouldn't have put the R7 2700X as the best because an overclocked R7 2700 will do just as well and the R7 2700X really doesn't overclock much beyond an overclocker R7 2700. If you don't plan to overclock I see their point, but considering the price difference I could use that difference for an...

    Best CPUs

I have my disagreements with these ratings. I'd still think an overclocked I7 8700K would be the best gaming CPU at the moment for the price and availability, but if I looked at it in a future sense the R7 2700X would be the best value choice considering how often Intel changes their sockets and...

    Best GPU Deals

Actually there's a deal that Tom's Hardware overlooked, on Newegg they were selling(I think they're out of stock now) a Sapphire RX 470 8gb mining version for $109.99 which is the best deal I've seen in a while. Yes, it's a mining card and it only comes with a DVI-D port so you'd have to get an...

Why Are Nvidia's GeForce RTX GPUs So Expensive?

That's easy to answer. With nothing that can compete on the high end they unfortunately can charge whatever they want. I pray AMD releases something that can compete.

    Best CPUs (Archive)

The AMD APUs seem like a decent solution for people that can't afford the way overprices GPUs now, but I pray miners don't find a way to make them work for them as well. If that's the case these miners would buy as many APUs as they could and use them to mine as well as with their current GPUs :(.

The Pentium G4560 isn't a good choice for gaming at the moment with affordable quad cores out now.

Actually the I5 8400 is a awesome deal for gaming because of having 6 full cores and can run on a more inexpensive motherboard. A lot of charts were showing it out perform an I7 7700K at stock and sometime even an overclocked I7 7700K if a game was more core dependent. it would be the best pick...

I'm glad to see Tom's Hardware addressed the concerns of it's readers by actually factoring in motherboard and H/F costs giving much better picture of dollar to performance ratio.
