u can get a decent 2560x1440 p 144 hz monitor for 499.99 from my experience from a 4k I used to have prior to this 1 to get the full benefit for 4k gaming is going with titan x its not worth the money for what difference u see in the 2 monitors , I was running 2 gtx 970 sli for the 4k it wasn't...

if you can go with a acer 27" 1440p 144 hz monitor for 699 go for it but I ended upo getting the acer 27 " 1440 p 144 hz with freesync for amd but still work on invidia cards I ended up getting the freesync 1 b/c it's 200 dollars cheaper for 499 and runs fine on invidia cards

your best bet is going with another gtx 970 to sli that is what i'm running at now and I get around 120-150 fps on almost all my games I got a acer 27" 133 hz 2560x1440p

be honest after I already tried that , with the gtx 980 ti single and in gtx 970 sli would be the best bet for 144 hz , you will only achieve 1 or the other better graphics with the gtx 980 ti or go with sli for more fps for the 144 hz
