Suddenly no sound on my computer for practically no reason. Bring me your wisdom, do I need a new Sound Card?

Update: I used skype and my mic works. My mic is also plugged into the back of the Main sound card. This leads me to believe the issue is with the headphone port or something similar, but I'm not sure.

Suddenly no sound on my computer for practically no reason. Bring me your wisdom, do I need a new Sound Card?

I will describe the scene of malfunction today: Earlier I was watching some netflix and everything was great, then I paused and decided to go eat some dinner. When I came back, all of the sudden there was no sound. I restarted my computer and nothing. I unplugged and replugged my...

intel i5 3570k needs a new heatsink. suggestions?

how much of a cooling boost do you even see with the Scythe Slipstreams? I know with the stock fans I usually max out at 45c under load playing BF4 on ultra.

intel i5 3570k needs a new heatsink. suggestions?

The Phanteks PH-TC14PE cools better than the Noctua nh-D14, but it bigger and a few db louder. But the Phanteks also has many color options and generally looks better than the Noctua nh-D14. They both run about $75 USD.

intel i5 3570k needs a new heatsink. suggestions?

although I use a GTX 680 that I picked up last year, for multi monitor setups the AMD radeon cards tend to have the upper hand, as they have more raw power and VRAM. So I recommend a variant of the R9 280X, the asus Direct CUII lines generally perform/cool rather well. But I am presonally not as...

intel i5 3570k needs a new heatsink. suggestions?

Also keep in mind in that first article I linked, the Noctua nh-D14 only out performed the phanteks cooler because they tested the SE2011 edition of the nh-D14(only for LGA 2011 CPU/mobos) which runs cooler. Basically just figure out your budget, your space in your case, and if color is an...

intel i5 3570k needs a new heatsink. suggestions?

if you want to go cheap the Coolermaster 212 EVO is a popular choice. Then for high end I'd recommend the Noctua nh-D14 or the Phanteks PH-TC14PE (I use this on my i7 4770k). http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/LGA-2011-i7-3960X-A... http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-heat-sink-hasw... -...

    x79 mobos for 4820k (LGA 2011)

I just found this http://www.computercity.com/sabertooth-x79-bo-r.html It's the sabertooth x79 but without the shield. Does this actually affect it? Does the motherboard still work fine without the shield?

    x79 mobos for 4820k (LGA 2011)

perhaps, but my problem right now is that I don't know which ones to look for. Most of the reviews on 2011 mobos are outdated to the original release of the socket and some might have conflicts with the new extreme ivy bridge-e tick.

    x79 mobos for 4820k (LGA 2011)

this is a little off topic now since I posted this in the motherboard section, but I might as well ask: does anyone know of some benchmark testing the 4770k overclocked vs the 4820 overclocked? I have found many doing one overclocked versus the other normally as some sort of control, but it's...

    x79 mobos for 4820k (LGA 2011)

I already run a GTX 680 so I think I'm fine on GPu for a few years my weakest components by far are my CPU and mobo respectively at the moment. I have given a lot of thought to the 4770k as well and have seen that the at clock speeds that it does indeed surpass the 4820k in most benchmarks by...

    x79 mobos for 4820k (LGA 2011)

I think I want to purchase a 4820k CPU. Originally I was looking at getting the GA-X79-UP4 but I've read there have been functionality problems with the bios. I've also read that some mobos just won't overclock with the 4820k because of bios issues as well. What mobos would be compatible/work...

Can you back up your answer or give some reasoning as to why you would go with that board besides the obvious devotion to your brand?

    GA-X79-UP4 vs Z87 Pro

I'm looking to upgrade my motherboard and CPU and I think I finally have my choices narrowed down. My budget atm is $468. So looking at this the best deals I could find for CPU + mobo combos I found that once again Microcenter reigns supreme of the land of prices. The two combos that I am the...
