[SOLVED] Should I upgrade my CPU or GPU?

My main PC is using the 3700X. I was using a 2070 Super until I purchased the 3080fe. I have better performance in all games that I play with maxed settings. It is my opinion that the 3700X is just fine. I personally will be upgrading the CPU next though to a 5800X.

[SOLVED] Thinking of upgrading my 1050 ti to a 3050 ti. Will this work with my recent PSU?

I browsed through the website on my phone, it wouldn't load right on my PC. I do see some decent power supplies offered. Corsair (CX's) Seasonic (Focus GX /GM or Core GC/GM/GX) Stay away from A12 and S12's Cooler Master (MWE's) If you have doubts, I would use the PSU Tier List link dotas1...

[SOLVED] Upgrading gaming PC, suggestions needed

While the Hyper 212 was released many years ago, it has stood the test of time, becoming one of the most popular air-coolers of all time. The proven performance record and relatively low cost makes it a great choice still. I have it on a 9700k and my temps do not go over 73C on hot days (its in...

[SOLVED] About to buy my son his first PC and it will be my first build. Please critique!

I would consider switching to the B550 board. The 3800X seems fine since that's all that you find available right now, and in the future he can opt to move to a 5000 series CPU and 3000 series GPU. Everything else that Prad_Bitt has said I can easily agree with. I just finished gathering all...

    [SOLVED] Do I bottleneck?

This would give you a performance increase, but I think only about a 15 percent boost. Please correct me if I am wrong.

    [SOLVED] Do I bottleneck?

I don't think you necessarily have to upgrade anything to see a boost in performance with the 3000 series GPU, however, I do think there will be a bottleneck. Were you to consider upgrading other components, I would just do a new build, when ready, and just carry the 3060 over to that build. On...

    The Member's Systems Discussion Thread

I built this PC last October 2019 starting from scratch. before this build I used a 970 since launch day. I've since upgraded the 2070 super originally in this build to the 3080Fe, and upgraded the monitor to the Gigabyte 34" 1440 Ultrawide. My wife has the 2070s now. I am curious what others...

[SOLVED] Advice on PC build budget US$ 400-600

For your usage, I don't really see any issues with the items you've chosen. There is another thread with $500 gaming build contest to get the most gaming performance you can while staying under $500. Not sure if it would be something you would want to look at or not. I'll just leave it here...

    [SOLVED] Upgrading PC - Help!

If I'm truly trying to find anything I can, your board will only recognize up to 3200MHz if you were planning on overclocking (you could tighten the timings though), and if I was upgrading the PSU, I'd try for more than a 50w bump. Neither of these things pose any issues. Other than that I...

[SOLVED] Thinking of upgrading my 1050 ti to a 3050 ti. Will this work with my recent PSU?

Dotas1 is correct. I would not use that PSU for anything other than integrated GPU's. Here is an awesome PSU from one of my favorite brands for $99 at B&H. I just bought the 600w version for my son's first build...

[SOLVED] Will it be worth it to go for Rtx 3080?

I have the 3700X on an X570 board as well. I bought the 3080. With that said, I have plans to also upgrade to the 5800X or 5900X. If you plan on continuing to upgrade, I'd say get the 3080. If you know you're good for a while and would rather save the money. The 3070 is absolutely fine. Here's...

[SOLVED] Why would you buy 6800XT(over RTX3080)?

If you want RTX, go with the 3080. If you want slighly better performance and don't care about RTX, or you have an AMD processor that can use the smart access memory and want the performance boost from that, choose the 6800XT. I have a 3700X and purchased the 3080Fe. I wanted the better RTX...
