[SOLVED] PC seems to be stuck in some sort of scroll

Clean boot as well as a full AV scan didn't solve it. However I disconnected all USB connected devices except for the mouse and rebooted, and the issue disappeared. I decided to reconnect the USB devices one by one to see which one caused it all, but the issue never returned. I've both rebooted...

[SOLVED] PC seems to be stuck in some sort of scroll

Whenever I open up a volume control in either the Windows 10 mixer or within a software, or when I open a document, the PC is stuck in a scroll - the volume reduces constantly, and the document just keeps scrolling down. I've tried rebooting, cold booting, disconnecting keyboard and mouse, and...

Question Do I need to run 2048K+ in Prime95 to stress test my XMP profile?

I've built a PC for a friend, and I'm currently running some tests to make sure everything work as it should. If I've understood things right, normally when you overclock the RAM you want to run Memtest86, and then Prime95 in custom mode with a range of 512K-4096K, where 512K-1024K stresses the...

Question Thousands of errors in Memtest86

Now I'm just confused. I went on to check the actual temperatures for some different loads within Windows just get a final view on the cooling and such. I fired up Aida64 and ran a CPU stress test, and to my surprise the temperatures were only 54C max in both Aida64 and HWMonitor. So I then...

Question Thousands of errors in Memtest86

Thank you for your replies! I have the DIMMs installed in the slots recommended by the manual, which is slot 2 and 4. I tested each DIMM separately in slot 2 but found no issues, though I only ran 4 passes this time (however the errors seemed to occur before completing 4 passes when I...

Question Thousands of errors in Memtest86

I've built a PC for a friend and I'm currently borrowing it for doing some testing to make sure the hardware is working as it should. This includes running Memtest86 with the memories at stock, so I haven't fiddled anything with the memory, they're at 2133MHz JEDEC standard. I made sure the...

PC keeps reinstalling bad driver since Win 10 update

Windows 10 forced an update on my laptop last week (1709), and ever since I have a Conexant audio driver with terrible audio quality that I can't get rid of. I've disabled automatic device driver updates (Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings -> Hardware), yet whenever I uninstall...

Can you maximize the voltage on the Sapphire Nitro R9 390?

That being said, does this card also have a hardware/vBIOS cap like Nvidia cards?

Can you maximize the voltage on the Sapphire Nitro R9 390?

Asking for a friend, who wants to overclock his GPU, the R9 390 (non-X). He asked me for advice to OC his card, however I'm only used to newer Nvidia cards, where you just maximize the power/temp target and core voltage and then start dialing the OC, as the maximum allowed voltage and power...

Will ASUS release new BIOS for X99-A mobo?

In light of the recent security issues Spectre and Meltdown, various instances have said that there may be important BIOS updates coming soon with bandaid fixes. I've also seen people comment that ASUS have released BIOS updates with the bandaid fixes. However looking at the support for my ASUS...

PC turns itself on after shutdown

Around the time when I first setup automatic shutdown in Windows Scheduler (or what it's called in English), my PC has started turning itself back on again after shutdown in the evening. I've tried disabling the scheduled shutdown but it made no difference, and I'm not sure how to fix this issue.

Front USB port on build not working

I just built a PC for my dad, with an MSI B250i Gaming Pro AC with the B250 chipset, in a Fractal Design Define Nano S. I'm currently running on the latest BIOS, with all drivers up to date. It turns out now that one of the two front USB 3.0 ports isn't working. Have I run out of USB ports? Or...

    Can't adjust rear fan RPM

The system fans are 1x Fractal Design Dynamic GP12 in the rear, and 2x Be-Quiet Pure Wings 2 140mm in the front I switched from PWM mode to DC mode in BIOS so it works currently controlling the rear fan but also affecting the CPU fan. I've set it so the CPU fan recieves just too little voltage...

    Can't adjust rear fan RPM

Turns out the rear fan was after all regular DC. I've switched so the PC reads the rear fan and run them both in DC mode for the moment - can PWM fans be run in DC mode without any additional degradation or so over time? For now I lose the semi-passive functionality, but it's near silent at low...
