wd passport light is on but is not recognised and cannot access files

Hi - I don't know about your specific model but I have a WD Passport that occasionally goes catatonic, too. Usually, if I simply unplug the power on the drive and then plug it in again, the system can access it. Mine also has a reset switch on the back. You could try that, but I have not had...

Not posting, no display, and I can't power off using the power button

Hi - I'm on an old XP machine right now so I can't double check in Win7 but in XP, under Control Panel - Power Options - Advanced , there is a drop down menu that lets you disable the power button. Check it in Win7. Your "friend" might have decided that it would be funny to screw with you.

The programming language a cpu is able to process is up to the model...

Hi - different families of processors use different machine level instruction sets and therefore different assembler languages. An Intel processor has a different instruction set than does a Motorola processor or Texas Instruments processor. Each higher level language from Assembler up to C++...

    Building PC(for programming)- <$2,500

    Audio Production Computer (700-800$ Budget)

Hi - Depending on the software that you want to use, you will need a video card. Also, if you are going to stick with virtual instruments and effects, I recommend that you double the ram, it's cheap.

2013 Audio production/Gaming build help please

Hi - Cubase requires at least 1GB of ram and Native Instruments Maschine needs at least 2. Add some more effects or a few virtual instruments and I would recommend at least 8GB.

2013 Audio production/Gaming build help please

I think that you only need a quiet pc if you intend to record either voice or acoustic instruments. If you intend to only use virtual instruments, then a lot of memory is more important. Virtual instruments and multiple effects can use up a lot of memory. In this scenario, I would also go...

Random Porn sounds coming out of speakers when nothing is runing

Hi; Years ago, I had a stereo amp that would pick up my neighbor's voice activated baby monitor. Technically, it was RFI (radio frequency interference). If one of your neighbors has a baby monitor, then at least you can put a face to the sounds.

    Free avg vs Norton 360

I've been using AVG and it can find some strange false positives. A couple of months ago it flagged an old Quick Basic clone called Rapid Q and last week it quarantined MASM. How do other free AVs compare for (in)accurate results?
