News Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti final specs and launch day allegedly leaked

Thanks for the response. I just assume that in certain situations, the 16 GB 5060 Ti could perform better than the 12 GB 5070 (poorly optimized games and future games). But if I'm being honest, I didn't think to see how the 4060 Ti compared to the 5070. ... so maybe memory bandwidth and...

News Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti final specs and launch day allegedly leaked

Why would they possibly announce and produce a 16GB 5060 Ti when the the 5070 only has 12 GB? I realize there are a lot of variables that affect performance. But I don't understand why they'd do this.

News After 41 years Microsoft quietly adds spellchecking and autocorrect to Windows Notepad

The real trick for me wasn't turning off spell check (r-click brought up the basic option). The real trick was finding the stand-alone gear icon for settings on the right side of the window when everything else in Notepad has been in a standard menu on the left for 40 years.

News Nvidia's RTX 4090 Appears on Latest Steam Hardware Survey

Thank you very much for the quick response. I'm using the same version of Chrome and I'm also using Firefox, and Chromium Edge. I completely disabled my adblocker on Chrome. I wasn't sure what you meant by "Things look even better if you shrink the width to the 'ideal' amount that...

News Nvidia's RTX 4090 Appears on Latest Steam Hardware Survey

Honest question: Am I doing something wrong here? When I look at the page for this article, it is mostly empty space. The left 1/3 of the page is empty, the right 1/3 of the pageis empty. The middle of the page is made up of a column of adds and the article. The 214 row chart has...

News Nvidia's RTX 4070 Ti Gets Official: RTX 4080 12GB Resurrected for $799

As I was reading the preceding comments, I was thinking in this direction as well. I've been building my PCs from scratch since the mid 90s. Honestly, I've been playing controller-based games almost exclusively in the past decade (Damn you, From Software!). But I've also played Elite...

Doom Eternal Graphics, CPU Testing: id Shows How to Optimize for Performance

This is the kind of data the CPU "elites" need to look at. My Ryzen 5 3600 has plenty enough power to play at 1440 and 4K. I just need to spend my money on a good GPU.

Review Half-Life: Alyx Gameplay Review: (Almost) Every VR Headset Tested

I'm confused by the Oculus Quest comments. The biggest issue with playing Half-Life: Alyx on the Quest was the degraded visual quality. The compression and decompression processes worked well, but PC-connected headsets don’t need to receive compressed signals, so you get better color and...

    Intel & AMD Processor Hierarchy

I believe the answer is that TomsHardware didn't test those processors directory and are estimating their performance.

News MSI CEO: Even Low-End AMD X570 Motherboards Will Be Expensive

Unless the Mobo has something like a BIOS Flashback option. I'm not worried about getting an Asus Strix X470-F because I can flash the new BIOS without connecting anything other than power. EDIT: I'm sorry. It looks like I got confused when I went to verify that the first time. It looks like...

News MSI CEO: Even Low-End AMD X570 Motherboards Will Be Expensive

From what I understand, the Ryzen 2 (3000 series) CPUs will overclock equally well on an X470 and X570. Whatever they call their automatic over clocking (too lazy to look it up) will not be updated on the X570. Of course, better VRMs and cooling can be applied to both. But the underlying...
