How reliable is recuva? (Accidentaly deleted 500GB of videos)

In my experience Recuva is very good. If it has marked a file as "excellent" then you will almost certainly get it back. If recovery is successful then the file will be in the exact state as when you deleted it. If it does have problems recovering a file, then it is almost certainly lost. If...

SSD options for my gaming PC.

What motherboard or RAID controller are you using? Personally I would have thought a RAID 0 pair of SSDs would have been faster. The tradeoff, I guess, is you're doubling your chances of having a disk failure as if either of them pack in you've lost your whole system.

Intel Smart Response Technology slowing down my system?!?

I have it 100% working now. The problem was with the driver. I thought I was using the latest, but it was from July and appears not to be compatible with Windows 10. Speeds reading and writing to the cached RAID array are now faster than even writing to just SSD. (Presumably as it can...

Intel Smart Response Technology slowing down my system?!?

I've just done a full rebuild and format and things seem better. Read speeds have almost trebled. Write speeds are still slow, but it's early days.

Intel Smart Response Technology slowing down my system?!?

Yes I understand the concept. However I've seen Crystal Disk Mark used on the Internet to test whether SSD caching is working. It performs several reads of the same data. I would expect to see the first one or few reads at similar speeds to the HDD but it should increase, not get slower. I am...

lost space on hard disk after reset windows 10

Hmm. I see something strange is going on. Windows disk management and the mini tool both suggest you are using around 100Gb of a 500Gb disk. It's the Tree Size app that's confusing things, as that's suggesting your are only using 30ish Gb. Either way, you appear to have plenty of space.

lost space on hard disk after reset windows 10

Have you tried doing a disk clean up? In Windows Explorer, right-thinking on the C: drive and choose properties. One of the tabs that appears has a Clean Up button. Press that to start disk clean up. There is a button that allows you to delete old system files (I can't remember exactly what...

My computer wont boot when I set my sata configuration to raid.

You need to boot into Windows safe mode. The problem you are having is because Windows is trying to boot with the AHCI driver and not the RAID driver. Once in safe mode, it should sort itself out and be fine on the next normal boot. I had exactly the same problem.

Intel Smart Response Technology slowing down my system?!?

I have a recently built system based on a Z97 motherboard. I have enabled Intel RAID and have an SSD installed, partitioned as a boot device with a 20GB partition set aside as a SRT cache for my RAID 5 storage array (3x 1TB HDD). Everything is set up and configured in Intel Rapid Storage...
