I'm working on animations and big scenes in Maya (GI/AA/FG/photonmapped/...). I also do a lot of post editing in PS and Fusion, but i don't worry about those performances. By medium i mean i'm not interested in cards that cost as much as a little car, ie. the very newest things on the market...

Which card would you suggest that can handle both 3D rendering projects and a bit of gaming? I'm building a new PC and wanted a professional opinion. I have kind of decided on my CPU (I7/860) both am ost in my search of a videocard. I'm on a "medium" budget. Thanks!
