Alright, I'll try that now, when you say install ram in slot 2 and 4 that means removing the ram from slot 1 and 3 and then formatting the drive?

Yeah, I did a full clean reinstall of a USB device at one point and the issue seemed to be gone for around 2 days and then started acting up again. I'm not sure why though.
