I would definitely get an i5, as it is designed for overclocking and so it's not difficult or risky. I have an older 2500k, I and many others were able to get 4.5 GHz out of it with no stability problems. Other than that, the build looks great. I don't think it's going to last you 4-5 years...

I don't have any on-hand experience with the cards, but benchmarks suggest the 970 is more powerful than the 780. You also have more overclocking potential and VRAM... I'd definitely go with the 970.

I'd get the 970 if I were you - it's cheaper and gets better performance than the 780.

I'd also include an SSD if you have extra money to throw around, as the Real Virtuality engine relies heavily on the hard disk - this will improve your performance in DayZ. You could store Windows on there too.
