Your graphics card is NVidia. If it has an hdmi it should have sound as well. Hi Definition Media Interface - HDMI so its sound and graphics. its an all in one plug.

If all of the above fails, download an updated bios for you motherboard. Download it first to a flash drive or hard drive first. Then install it.

If you don't use the optical audio it won't make a difference, I really don't think its either of those two that's causing this. Have you tried contacting the sound card manufacturers?

I have my pc sound running through a 7.1 surround sound set up and that's what I use. As for the "AC97" that's ok as well.

Have you tried to clear your bios via the CMOS??????

Looking at your bios I would have done the same as you. I can imagine that your head is spinning. Unless there is a setting in windows stopping you from altering it? I know you said you went into device manager but (and I know how annoying this is) just go through every little detail regarding...

The "SPDIF" is your optical audio out which goes to either amp or surround sound. Like coaxial but its fibre optic. The "AC97" looks like the front usb header and they normally are for the front audio headers as well. I can't see how they could be the problem.

Perhaps the sound card has a fault. Is there any way you could fit it to a friends pc, at least you'd know the card is fine. After that it would have to be a software issue. It wouldn't be the first time that a new piece of hardware is at fault, nor the last. It's rare but it does happen.
