    [SOLVED] Older system, no POST.

I bought a PSU tester, and confirmed that the PSU is in fact faulty.

    [SOLVED] Older system, no POST.

Thank you for time in taking a look at this post, and for giving some advice on the issue. I came up with RTC from looking into what 4 beeps could mean. This motherboard was made around 2012, so that eliminates the possibiltiy of it being a Real Time Clock issue.

    [SOLVED] Older system, no POST.

I was able to get it to POST once this morning. The steps leading up to this: -clear cmos (remove battery, move jumper, hold power button to dissipate capacitors 15-20 second) -boot with no ram installed, constant beeping, no post -boot with ram in dimm 1 and 3 no post, no beep -boot with ram...

    [SOLVED] Older system, no POST.

I didn’t see anything initially, but I will take a better look. I can’t see any evidence of damage, (arcs or puffed capacitors)

    [SOLVED] Older system, no POST.

I worked on this pc several months ago, where I replaced the cpu cooler and thermal paste application, cleaned and dusted thoroughly, and moved the components into a new case. Before that it was somewhat dusty, this time it was not. I appreciate your help, I am willing to work on my friend‘s pc...

    [SOLVED] Older system, no POST.

Power on, cpu cooler and gpu fans spin. No debug beeps, unless I remove both ram sticks, in which case I get a continuous beep. Screen displays nothing, no signal, monitor doesn’t react in any way. I have tried all the outputs from the gpu on a couple different monitors. The usb peripherals do...

    [SOLVED] Older system, no POST.

Correct. I have tried with the ram in in each combination, 1 or 2 sticks. Drive connected and not. To keep it simple I am now troubleshooting as you say, CPU, GPU, and 1 stick of RAM.

    [SOLVED] Older system, no POST.

That is the exact motherboard. Replacing the battery is certainly worth a try. Thank you.

    [SOLVED] Older system, no POST.

It wasn’t hard to change the boot order and have the windows installation media start up initially. I haven’t been trying to boot from any drive currently. I’m simply trying to get it to POST at this point.

    [SOLVED] Older system, no POST.

Ok, thank you. Good to know, P indicates no integrated graphics. So, I could be dealing with multiple issues, as I can’t get a post with the drive connected or not.

    [SOLVED] Older system, no POST.

I’m trying to fix troubleshoot a pc for my friend. The system had not been used for weeks/months, and on the first boot up after the period of not being used the pc would not boot into windows and showed a blue recovery screen. ‘The Boot Configuration Data file doesn’t contain valid information...

[SOLVED] gtx 1660 ti vs rx 5700 for ryzen 5 2600

If you are going to stick with the 1440p 60hz monitor, both gpus are capable, your monitor will be the bottleneck in most games for now. I imagine the 5700 will be capable at 1440p 60hz for a little while longer. With $100 difference, you would have to consider that the 5700 will get you an...

[SOLVED] Extreme temps on 2600 @ 3.8 ghz Running Cinebench r20

Pretty happy with it, I was able to run it at 4ghz @ 1.3125v for 8hrs on realbench, it peaked at 71c. I had some trouble with the test at first, but realised pretty quickly that it was my gpu oc that was causing the instability, so I shut off afterburner, wiped the drivers with ddu, reinstalled...

[SOLVED] Extreme temps on 2600 @ 3.8 ghz Running Cinebench r20

So I gave the hyper 212 evo a try since it was already on the way, and it lowered my temps in the cinebench R20 test by an average of 24c. I was able to get it to 4.0ghz at 1.3125v, and top out at about 61c after a 30 min run of the Asus Realbench stress test. I’m planning on going for 8hrs...
