    Question Switching from a Ryzen 7800X3D to a Ryzen 7950X ?

Nope. I compared my results with someone who had my same motherboard and a 7900x, and the 7950x is significantly faster.

    Question Switching from a Ryzen 7800X3D to a Ryzen 7950X ?

I went ahead with the purchase a few days ago, put it in my PC today. I would call this a 100% success. Couldn't be happier with the results thus far. During a stress test, temps peaked at 85C, VRM never overheated even when left at ~200W for a while. On a Switch game, an area that previously...

    Question Switching from a Ryzen 7800X3D to a Ryzen 7950X ?

I'm using a B650 with an 8+2+2 phase system. Based on what others have said, I can't overclock but should have no issues for now. I don't have enough RAM at the moment to do -j32 compilation smoothly (2GB per thread) so I may end up turning off SMT anyways. I also have no plans to overclock, and...

    Question Switching from a Ryzen 7800X3D to a Ryzen 7950X ?

That is WAY out of my budget, lol. If I can sell my 7800X3D I'm only paying 50-70$ for the 7950X. And I only have like $150 to spend

    Question Switching from a Ryzen 7800X3D to a Ryzen 7950X ?

I have comically oversized case fans, a high-quality CPU cooler, and my CPU never reached above 60° even under very heavy load, so I think I'm okay? I'll see though

    Question Switching from a Ryzen 7800X3D to a Ryzen 7950X ?

Interesting--I'll keep that in mind. My impression is that SMT on is better for compiling large C/++ projects though (as long as I have enough RAM obviously) so if gaming performance is fine with SMT on (esp. with my graphics card bottleneck) I'll do so. This I also figured. I suppose the 3D...

    Question Switching from a Ryzen 7800X3D to a Ryzen 7950X ?

I meant to include that, I generally only play 2D games which could easily run on a Pentium 4--but I also do sometimes emulate Switch games which I've heard is extraordinarily CPU-intensive. I guess so. I was kind of under the impression that the 7950X had way less L3 cache (which is super...

    Question Switching from a Ryzen 7800X3D to a Ryzen 7950X ?

If I'm able to sell my 7800X3D and pay an extra $50 I can easily afford a 7950X. I want to do this primarily because almost my entire workload is based on productivity and generally benefits massively from increased thread count. However, the only thing I'm potentially concerned with is...

    Question Significant Bluetooth Interference/Loss

I've done some more tests and noticed something interesting: before the driver update ( and still on Linux), I would have to remove & re-pair a device whenever it was connected to a different device, but now I can simply press connect and it'll connect, regardless of the previously paired...

    Question Significant Bluetooth Interference/Loss

After testing, no, this didn't fix it on Linux. It's marginally better for sure but the issue is still there. I'll check on another computer to verify whether or not it's my hardware soon.

    Question Significant Bluetooth Interference/Loss

Linux is not, in fact, fine. I'll try recompiling my kernel with updated drivers and go from there.

    Question Significant Bluetooth Interference/Loss

Okay, for some reason when I updated the bluetooth driver it works totally fine now? I'll test on Linux in a bit.

    Question Significant Bluetooth Interference/Loss

Alright, I'll get that. I do really wonder what happened, though, WiFi works fine, antennas are in etc.

    Question Significant Bluetooth Interference/Loss

No. The bluetooth radio is built-in to the Realtek/Ryzen chipset. I'm considering getting one to see if my hardware is the issue, though, or perhaps as a PCI-E card.
