Having been involved in the crypto-world the past few months, it's funny to read this line: Intel's stocks tumbled a whopping 7% earlier in the day as AMD skyrocketed to a 10% gain.

Having the exact same issue here trying to get a 1070 going. It downloads and installs just fine, but when I click restart it just reboots and says to install the driver.

"What I don't understand are Intel's tricks to making the TDP so low." Intel bases TDP only off of base frequency at load, not max turbo frequency.

@Xenol I sort of agree with him though. They're saying a 40% increase over Excavator, which has been around for 5 years. Intel doing 10% a year for 5 years is 50%, so until actual reviews and benchmarks come out - at least from a numbers standpoint - they're no closer to Intel than they were 5...

Judging by the review, I can save >$100 and get a typical 92mm fan cooler that fits the same form factor as this, and put that $100 to make the system better. What in the heck is the point of this product? Price, Noise, Cooling Ability. At least one of those needs to be better to be relevant...

Had that motherboard with an 860k, I'm pretty sure it's the VRMs getting too hot. With a dedicated GPU I would constantly see the individual cores throttle back to like 1GHz for a second randomly even though the CPU was plenty cool.

Does anyone know where to find documentation for various CPUs showing what the max turbo is during different core loads? I know the turbo decreases the more cores are loaded, but this varies each CPU, and wanted to see if there's like a central place to go to that shows this. Intel Ark doesn't...
