So the issue was with windows itself weather it was system files or drivers I couldn't say but whatever it was, was windows based and so I have done a system reset which appears to have fixed everything.

It said smart fail the first time then it corrected itself so im going to run a full repair anyway tomorrow when im away as I need the pc currently instead of it being out of order for long periods of time.

I forgot to mention that I have been putting the computer in Hibernate a lot recently as it takes a really long time to startup and I am wondering if that because I'm not shutting the pc down regularly it could be bad for the overall performance of the startup.
