Alright I rebooted and found out there's a 17 degree Celcius discrepency between what the monitoring programs detect by default and what the temperature is at boot up (after having ran the pc for 2 days straight).
Now it's easy enough to put a 17 point handicap on the mobo software monitors but...
I've been downloading some various motherboard polling programs to find out the one that can best determine the temp that my CPU is runnign at. It's an Asus A7V8X board runnign an Athlon 2500+ @ 1822MHz with a Vantec Aeroflow heatsink on it.
The Asus probe reports temps around 49C-53C, but...
Alright it's roll your eyes and smack me in the back of the head time, because I didn't update my bios when I put in the new CPU hahaha.
Fact of the matter was before the bios update you could fry an egg on the fan after using the cpu intensively, and it broke 80C while playing games.
Now...
Hi all, I'm currently running my AMD 2500+XP at 1833MHz with a 333fsb and it's just burning up, I tried both the stock cooling fan and the Vantec Aeroflow, and I'm getting the same results...
IS 70C/160F a normal idle temp for this CPU with these settings? Any solutions/ info would be greatly...
I'm using the newest catalyst version 7-90:
wxp-w2k-radeon-7-90-030605m-009437c-efg
and it's what I use for both the old AGP AiW Radeon and the new PCI Radeon 7500 (I didn't have to install any new drivers).
The older drivers are more stable (with a few endurable bugs) the reason I don't use...
My ATI cards, using the recent 7-84 to 7-90 drivers are crashing very often. at least twice a day now, BUT only when I play games are use DirectX/OpenGL intensively.
None of my other colleagues are having this problem to this extent, and I figure my dual radeon card configuration may be at...
Alright, this is by no means the solution, but I got this to work some what better than my previous setup.
I don't know the reason why my PCI 7500 was suffering that ridiculous performance hit, but this is how i got rid of it:
I installed the PCI 7500 on it's own first, THEN installed the AGP...
Yes currently I'm running two off the 7500, but the 7500 is the PCI card lol.
Anyway I'll look into the solutions from ATI, they just sent me a long disorganised email that looks like they just ran a word search on their articles, but it might help.
I checked out the Matrox cards and they look...
Thanks for the help Cleeve and TheGreatGrapeApe,
My setup is currently dual monitors on the 7500 PCI, but I find that the data bandwidth is not enough to handle some games like C&C Generals, which I don't really care about, but when I try to work with some of my graphics apps I need that AGP...
What are the possible setups for a graphics workstation with multiple monitors (general setups).
The one I'm using right now has an agp card and a dual pci card, BUT if I run the PCI as the primary card from the motherboard I get no 3D accerleration features from the AGP, and vice versa. What...
