Review Micron 4600 2TB SSD Review: The New Baseline in SSDs

How does the 1600 TBW for the 4 TB model fit here? But then again the article is from Shane, so there's no big surprise about the quality and correctness of this review.

SSD Benchmarks Hierarchy: We've tested over 100 different SSDs over the past few years, and here's how they stack up.

Maybe you didn't read or understand my comment. Although the SN770M is maybe 3x faster than the UD90 when the SLC cache is full, it's still dog-slow, even if it is touted with the super-duper TLC memory. So, inferring chip types for tiny 2230 SSDs from performance charts from an upcoming review...

I didn't say anything about you having an ulterior motive. I pointed out the strange thing about the UD90 2230, and it turned out that you wrote "QLC" there just by guessing, instead checking the serial number on the chip or asking SP, or just putting "?" in there. Although SP state very...

@JarredWaltonGPU I now see that you wrote QLC even for the Corsair MP600 mini. In this review: https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/corsair-mp600-mini-ssd-review it was stated that it has TLC, and if you look at the IOMeter graph in your article, it performs similarly to the Sabrent. Corsair...

SSD Benchmarks Hierarchy: We've tested over 100 different SSDs over the past few years, and here's how they stack up.

I don't want QLC in my house (at least not in SSDs), mostly because of their endurance. Although the jury is still out on my 1 TB Kioxia BG5 in my current Deck... I know that it's just a theoretical limit and even 450 TBW would last me 50+ years. I have now 5 TBW (with write amplification maybe...

I did some research in the meantime, it seems that both UD90s have a NAND lottery here. Some people received TLC, others QLC chips. I guess I'll buy the SN770M then for my Deck, even if their power management and temperatures are crap. Should be OK for the Deck though.

Hello, @JarredWaltonGPU , how do you know that the 2230 UD90 has QLC? It's listed with 1200 TBW on their homepage, and the 2280 variant has TLC. Thanks

Review Inland TN436 SSD Review: Retail 2230 Drive That Comes Up Short

If the hardware is similar, then the firmware surely is not. The BG5 has different specs, and also benchmarks on the Deck show completely different results. My BG5 1 TB has slower sequential reads, but faster writes. And the random reads are 50% higher than those of the TN436.

Review Samsung 990 Pro SSD Review: The Return of the King

Ofcourse is the Kingston is better value, I think the Fury Renegade is even better. They cost less than half than the 990 Pro, and in practically all the cases you will see no performance difference. The SN850x is even faster than the 990 Pro. But for laptops the Samsung is the much better...

Review SK Hynix Gold P31 M.2 NVMe SSD Review: High-performance, Unprecedented Efficiency

Why are there such huge differences between the 1 TB and the 2 TB models in Final Fantasy (9 s vs. 12 s)? What test system was used for the 1 TB benchmarks?

Review Samsung 990 Pro SSD Review: The Return of the King

I have searched only a bit but I couldn't find 2 identical test systems for different reviews. Most of the reviews don't even list the test bench. Another example: SK Hynix Gold P31 review Here, the 2 TB version was tested (presumably) later, but the test bench system is listed only on its...

Review Samsung 990 Pro SSD Review: The Return of the King

Why does the 980 Pro suddenly have lower write speeds than in it's own review? I've also seen different values in other benchmarks in your reviews, nothing can be compared to each other anymore. Are you just sloppy and switch around values in the Excel tables by mistake?

Review Seagate FireCuda 530 M.2 NVMe SSD Review: Performance Above All

Why is the drive only rated at around 1275 rewrites if it supports 3000 program/erase cycles? Shouldn't those numbers be closer together?
