Question New PC build - it's been awhile

Sorry for my late response on your quick response. I installed the Thermalright. Thanks again to everyone for your suggestions. I finished the build Saturday morning and have been setting it up and played games most of the weekend. This machine is fast and games look amazing on it. So far I have...

Question New PC build - it's been awhile

I got all my parts in and am now in the process of building. Question: So the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE that @logainofhades recommended, this would be installed instead of the heatsink/fan that was included with the CPU? If so, what's wrong with the heatsink/fan that came with the CPU?

Question New PC build - it's been awhile

Thanks to everyone for your feedback and suggestions. I wanted to stick with all AMD, CPU and GPU. The build @logainofhades suggestion looks to be closest to what I am looking for.

Question New PC build - it's been awhile

So you changed out the memory for a CL32. Was that to go with the motherboard? I'm still trying to understand the difference in that CLxx tag for memory.

Question New PC build - it's been awhile

Thanks for the response. And some valid points. You're definitely right about the processor; more cores, please. As far as the case, is that more of a personal preference? Or, is that Montech just a better case than the Deepcool?

Question New PC build - it's been awhile

So, after having my current PC build for about 9 years I am finally going to build a new machine within the next month. I'm trying to get caught up on all the new technology now in desktop builds. I've seen videos from PC Builder on YouTube (hope this guy knows his stuff; he seems to) and based...

Question Minisforum - Intel NUC KVM/libvirt replacement?

Follow up on this. I ended up buying the NAB5 on sale from Newegg for about $360 with 1TB storage and it is working pretty solid as a KVM/libvirt host, so far, in my home lab.

Question Minisforum - Intel NUC KVM/libvirt replacement?

The Minisforum NAB5 seems to have pretty decent reviews out there. No one has experience with this brand? Or any other minipc with power like this at a budget?

Question Minisforum - Intel NUC KVM/libvirt replacement?

Hello, all. I hope this is the best place to post this question. Here's the deal. I have an old Intel NUC for a home server I have had for a couple of years I am afraid could die at any moment. It currently is running Red Hat 8 with KVM/libvirt hosting a few virtual machines and is also my Plex...

Build Advice New AMD Build (mini-PC) ?

I think what I am leaning more toward is a pre-built option, that's why I was looking at those Beelinks and Minisforum mini-PCs. In my younger years (many, many years ago) when I had more time, I used to build PCs all the time. These days it's more convenient to buy pre-built. I assume that's...

Build Advice New AMD Build (mini-PC) ?

So, a mini-PC is not the way to go? The RX 7600 is the GPU I should shoot for, if not a mini-PC? Or, will something a little more affordable work just as well that is better than my GTX 970? Like a RX 6600?
