I fixed the problem!! Turns out the pins were bent. So I used a needle to put them back into place and now it works!

Well that sucks looks like he's going to have to buy me another one hahahaha.

I have, the CPU is probably broken because my dad was trying to get it off the stock cooler, because I couldn't it was stuck on to tight and he dropped it.

Well title pretty well sums it up. I'm planning on upgrading to the Asus GTX 770 from the Gigabyte R9 270 and was wondering if it was worth it.

R9 270. *edit* Sorry the 660 is actually better but if you get the gigabyte wind force edition of the r9 270 it's better but the normal asus is worse

Yes they are all compatible but that motherboard is a mini ATX I dont really think it matters but to be safe I would change the mobo to something like the MSI Z87-G45 Gaming and that build is pretty good. Another thing you could do is go to PC part picker, it tells you if parts are compatible

well the laptop has a better processor but the video card isn't that good compared to the 660. any way the desktop can be upgraded in the future. but it wont be easy to transport
