News American 3D Printer filament companies raise the flag, not the price

What I find unacceptable is when U.S. companies raise their prices after tariffs are applied to imported competitiors "dumping" in the U.S. market. A tariff is generally intended to raise imported prices to be competitive with U.S. produced goods, not to allow greater profits and prices for U.S...

News Logitech prices are increasing by as much as 25%, and they're not alone

I used a lot of Logitech hardware over the years but finally gave up on them when the quality dropped and they would not respond to new defective product purchases. I think they have lost their way.

News China fires back at Trump’s tariff increases with 125% levies on U.S. goods

125% tariff on ZERO imports from the U.S. is still ZERO revenue for China. If the U.S. had zero Chinese imports the world would likely be a much better place.

News U.S. tariffs to heavily impact HDD and SSD manufacturers, increasing costs

Within 6 months all countries will have made a deal with the U.S. and life as we know it will continue on. Tariffs are a means to an end which is fair trade between all countries without U.S. manufacturers being prevented from selling their products in other countries due to excessive tariffs or...

News Framework pauses U.S. sales of base Laptop 13 models due to tariffs — company says other vendors are pausing sales too, but not making announcements

I'd suggest that sellers get in touch with reality or they are going to lose a lot of sales. The U.S. is a pretty big market and if you want to sell here then you need to get with the program.

News Leaked Asus ROG Crosshair X870E Extreme images suggest an imminent launch

I understand overclocking and I did it for years when it produced a tangible system performance increase but to spend $1000 on a mobo and several grand on a GPU doesn't make a lot of sense to ME unless this is a necessity for work. I guess Asus would not be producing these ultra expensive toys...

FWIW the official AM5 3.20 BIOS has been available on the Asrock website for several weeks.

News China will enforce clear flagging of all AI generated content starting from September

After all the hacking from the CCP I wouldn't hold out a lot of hope that these rules will be effective. Unless 51 CIA agents wrote a letter confirming it to be Russian disinformation how can the average person know what is real and what is state sponsored propaganda?

News Brother accused of locking down third-party printer ink cartridges via firmware updates, removing older firmware versions from support portals

Vendors learn a valuable lesson when their sales tank from unscrupulous manipulation of consumers.

News AMD's new RX 9000 GPUs only officially support UEFI systems

I highly doubt anyone buying a $600 consumer GPU is using a mobo without UEFI. It would need to be very outdated.

News Former Intel directors strongly oppose TSMC takeover, call for Intel fabs spinoff

I wonder if this is karma for all of Intel's past criminal actions? Perhaps they feel they are "Too Big to fail"? Time will tell if they can recover from their many business mistakes.

News Apple says it will spend $500 billion in US over next four years as it faces down President Trump's tariffs

Nice to see some jobs coming back to the U.S. after so many companies exported them to China for increased CEO compensation.

News USPS had ceased accepting parcels from China and Hong Kong late Tuesday, potentially affecting numerous PC parts — service was restored by early We...

USPS has just announced that they are officially processing parcels from China once again. There will likely be a 10% tariff on all items imported to the U.S.

News Trump to impose 25% to 100% tariffs on Taiwan-made chips, impacting TSMC

Tariffs are used to level the economic playing field and encourage production and jobs in a country. TSMC can easily just finish segments 2 and 3 in the U.S. to produce all the chips needed. If Intel ever gets their act together they could expand U.S. production also.

News AM5 copper guard stops you from making a mess on your Ryzen CPU — also improves heat dissipation

Apparently many folks missed the memo that TIM should be installed as thin as possible because it is only intended to fill in minute imperfections in the heatsink and CPU lid. The thicker the TIM the less heat transfer to the cooler.
