By default "Over Drive" was set to "Extreme". I set this to normal and now everything is working. After hours of fiddling and Googling I'm both relieved and feel like an idiot.

I just purchased a new monitor (Acer XB241H) and I'm trying to connect it to my laptop (Asus GM501GS) using a thunderbolt 3 dock (CalDigit TS3 Plus). As the title suggests, I can't get the display to work over thunderbolt 3. Windows does detect the monitor but the monitor is blank. Keyboard...
