I would not rule out your PSU just becuase it is new, if GPU works fine in another system you might have a faulty one. Usually when the GPU crashes immediately on startup for demanding games it means there was insufficient power. Try another one if you can.

Perhaps you could paint a GPU white, it would be easier if you could get one with removable shroud (don't paint metal parts, just the plastic cover). Get some really good blue masking tape, use a heat resistant primer and something like aerosol plasti dip, you can scrape off later.
