UPDATE: Someone lent me a working SSD to try. A2 error remained. The same person might be able to lend me 3.5" HDD to USB and M.2 to USB adapters, which will enable me to test if the drives work. At this stage I suspect that they do and that there is either a problem with the mobo or in the way...
