    It's hammer time!

    Overclocking Intel’s Xeon E5620: Quad-Core 32 nm At 4+ GHz

Thanks so very much! This was the exact article I was looking for. Really been evaluating hardware here to purchase - I just didn't know how bad or not of a "handicap" I'd be in if I went Xeon instead of i7. Now I know.

Tom's Hardware Wants You: CPU Tests For 2011

    1. Any crazy conversion with Adobe Premiere Pro (HD footage) 2. Get a 7D, 5DII, and start editing / exporting tests with several hundred 20-40MB photo files. 3. Keep Crysis just because, add in Starcraft II, and FFXIV (has a benching mode free to download). 4. F@H, yes please. 5...

StarCraft II Revisited: How Much Gaming PC Do You Need?

Ah, running an old Quad Q6600 @ 2.4 stock and a 9800GTX+ so after this article, not completely surprised that my 256x256 map w/10 players lags severely. I'm sure it's built to as intensive a level (save starting units) as Tom's map was.

In Pictures: 20 MMORPG Realms You Should Explore

C'mon Tom's. Ultima Online was alraedy 3 or so years old before any of these "old school" MMOs even started! So much pioneering from that game. Also missing, Aion, EVE, FFXI (it's over 8 years old already by the way), FFXIV, and a lot more out there.

Sign Up. Comment Well. Win Core i7 Gaming Rig!

Quite an interesting setup there for sure. Slick enough that I'll say it's Chuck Norris approved despite the fact that the computational power of Chuck Norris' brain would make this system melt. Thus, Tom's doesn't need it so I can gladly accept it for them ;)

Beware: Email Scam Targeting StarCraft II Fans

Literally just got one of these last night on a relatively secured game's GUI email system that I've never given the address out for. Tried the code manually and of course it's invalid. Thankfully the game blocked any URL links and such so didn't even realize the addresses were fake - that's...

Nvidia GeForce GTX 460: The Fermi We Were Waiting For

Great review! Will they translate these power-saving specs / temps and such into the higher 470 and 480 models? As nice as this GF 104 chip is, as was mentioned even if it's 100% active (and parts aren't turned off), can it really compare to the original GF 100? While I'm all for knowing a...

In Pictures: 20 Heat Sinks That Look Cool, Too

A benchmark of all these would be great for temps at idle, load, overlock etc.! Simply make a couple systems as close as possible (for the Intel / AMD differences), a few standard tests and there you go :)

Report: Most Windows 7 PCs Max Out RAM, Choke

Sitting here with Winamp and IE open, virus scanner, firewall, and 5 instances of F@H running without anything else really running aside from Windows 7 Pro. Got 4 GB installed and only using 1.5GB of it. No problems here - I've only seen it hit a RAM limit when browsing a directory with say...
