    Easiest answer, check the header cables that plug into the mobo. Gen 1 and Gen 2 headers are physically very very different.

    Well, after another reboot and attempt at Win 10 install, the BIOS finally decided to recognize the 900P as bootable and install Win 10 with no intervention on my end. Hmmm, Strange.
