My monitor is 1440p 144hz IPS (MG279Q) CPU Is i7 4790k @ 4.6 ghz. I know the 1170 will probably match the 1080ti at around 400~ ish dollar next year (just like how the 1070 is on the same level as 980 ti at half the price). I don't know if I should make the leap.

Hi i have the i7 4790k overlocked at 4.6 GHZ with a cosair h100i v2. Should I upgrade to the i7 7700k? I heard it can easily overclock to 5.0 ghz and it has better IPC. Is it worth it or no? Should ijust wait till cannon lake? PS: My GPU is a gtx 1080

Hi my friend is giving me one or the other for the above price. I need advice which is a better buy. The gtx 1070 boosts up to 2120 stable and stays there at games. The 1080 only goes up 2050 mhz however. (Basically golden chip 1070. average 1080)
