Question Some checking after turning an internal SSD/HDD into an external one using an enclosure ?

Yes, I did. I always do. This is probably the answer. I remember I connected the SSD a few times. It didn't always appear in the system. I just unplugged it. That's why I don't have that enclosure anymore. I returned it.

Question Some checking after turning an internal SSD/HDD into an external one using an enclosure ?

I did it once. I'm asking because I'm curious. There is no such option. I think it was Windows 10. The logo just stays there during OS booting. Maybe it's my motherboard's feature. Gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-D3H AMD A8-7600 (I know it's old but it's enough for me)

Question Some checking after turning an internal SSD/HDD into an external one using an enclosure ?

Yes. I copied the files about 3 months ago. Today I decided to ask. The OS running on the 2nd PC is old. I check Task Manager and Autostart (Registry, Task Scheduler, Services, StartMenu-Autostart) very often (just in case). When I copy files, no new processes show up. If you're talking about...

Question Some checking after turning an internal SSD/HDD into an external one using an enclosure ?

No. Just some files (movies). It's better not to wear out a flash drive. I don't think it's AV. It's happening before any OS or LiveUSB is loaded. It looks like firmware (because of the logo), but I'm not sure. Standard Windows Explorer copy-paste.

Question Some checking after turning an internal SSD/HDD into an external one using an enclosure ?

Hello everyone. I have two computers. Is there some way to copy files from the 2nd PC to the 1st one ? The 1st PC has only one internal SSD. I connect the SSD to the 2nd PC using a SATA-to-USB external enclosure. When I connect the SSD back to the 1st PC, I see the following picture before...

Question Can a motherboard be accidentally damaged by bending or applying pressure on it ?

Yes, it's working fine. that is what I should be worried about ↑ ↑ ↑ Thanks. I appreciate your concern. I promise I'll do something about my stupidity. I take some measures. Nobody is 100% secured. There are still zero-day threats that you should be (and you are) worried about. If you are so...

Question Can a motherboard be accidentally damaged by bending or applying pressure on it ?

That was stupid, I must admit... Thanks for the answers. I hope my mobo will be OK.

Question Can a motherboard be accidentally damaged by bending or applying pressure on it ?

When I plug a USB flash drive into the front panel, it doesn't show up at all sometimes. The flash drive is OK. My PC just does not see it. This started to happen right after the purchase. I think this is a hardware issue. Is it the front panel or the mobo? Here is my case: The CardReader 2.0...

Question Can a motherboard be accidentally damaged by bending or applying pressure on it ?

Is that what I need? I read the motherboard User's Manual. It said nothing about bending: I contacted Gigabyte eSupport, asked the same question. They said such bending was not enough to damage the mobo. Maybe they just didn't want me to worry. Why shouldn't I? Because an old system is...

Question Can a motherboard be accidentally damaged by bending or applying pressure on it ?

Yes, I'm aware. Thanks. So what? That's not an issue. You'll be surprised. I have an old computer (Pentium G3450, 4 Gb RAM) running Windows 7 (I installed it about 10 years ago) and I still use it (I'm using it right now). Nothing bad has happened. I've never kept any system up-to-date (since...

Question Can a motherboard be accidentally damaged by bending or applying pressure on it ?

Yes, three months or so. That's because the computer was inexpensive. The processor (AMD A8-7600) is also an ancient one (relatively).

Question Can a motherboard be accidentally damaged by bending or applying pressure on it ?

Isn't it mounted properly? I bought a prebuilt PC. They didn't mount the mobo properly, did they?

Question Can a motherboard be accidentally damaged by bending or applying pressure on it ?

I'll leave it alone. Thanks for the advice. I think that won't be necessary, I screwed up already. Is there any benchmark software that can detect such malfunction? I guess such problems are undetectable. Can this cause data corruption on any hard drives / SSDs / MicroSDs connected to the...
