Can you do better? ($600 Budget Gaming Build)

Gaming build I am planning to build for my sister, she has a rough budget of $600 USD. I will be selling her my old 7870XT for $200 and we do not need an OS. So basically a rough $400 to work with this is what I came up with, what do you think? CPU: FX-6300 $120 MOBO: ASUS M5A97 R2.0 $60...

    Is this build good?

Yes the 7850 will perform well but... WD Green drives are not meant to be used as OS drives, so I would not suggest that as your primary hard drive. Also I can't find that PSU on newegg but a 550w power supply for $23 is not a good sign. It's probably trash. Is it 80+ certified?

Actually the 7770 does perform better than I thought... http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/536?vs=549 but the 7850 is much better. Going with the 7770 would bring my build down to around $500

Here's my suggestion... http://pcpartpicker.com/user/thehiddenlotus/saved/1sn6 I know it a bit more $ than your original build but the difference is astronomical. You will be able to play all the newest games and most at high settings. CPU AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core $135.45 Motherboard ASRock...

Sorry to break it to you but... You will not be able to be able to play most games on high let alone ultra with a 7770 You case and PSU are probably garbage at that price, and your PSU is the last thing you want to skimp on. Why 8x1 RAM? Go 4x2. The FX-6300 is much better than the 4100 and...

Cheapest Gaming PC build that can run BF3 on low with at least 100FPS and of course Minecraft :)

Here is my suggestion... http://pcpartpicker.com/user/thehiddenlotus/saved/1qCG $450 AMD APU build with Windows 7. It can run BF3 at just about 60fps on low at 1366x768. Don't know about 1920x1080. CPU: AMD A10-5800K 3.8GHz Quad-Core $128.78 Motherboard: Biostar Hi-Fi A85W ATX FM2...
