I'm running a 144hz monitor with a displayport cable but I'm only able to get 60hz. The cable was a really cheap one and I was wondering if this is the reason why. And what displayport cable do I need for 144hz gaming?

I have an AOC G2460PQU monitor that is capable of running 1080p@144hz. But in nvidia control panel and windows it shows max refresh rate as 60hz and I can't go higher. I am connecting via display port.

If it's faster and has double the vram then it is really a no brainer. Only real driver difference is that more games are usually optimised for nvidia than amd. Saying that, with dx12 being released I would go for a 380 in your position. That's because it's being said that amd cards will benefit...
