Looks really solid for a first build. The 970 is strong gpu, the 960 is as well but the difference is pretty large. If you want to play new games on very high settings you could get the 960, but like BasActor said you will want to turn settings down for half decent frame rates.

GTX 750 Ti is a very plug and play option for entry level gaming. It does not require a power connector and will outperform built any built in gpu. With black Friday being close you could get one pretty cheap.

An i3 will be able to play some new games, (perhaps not on max settings) and can potentially bottleneck a powerful GPU such as a 970. I would recommend upgrading to a mid range i5 when you have the chance.
