I have the same question, just picked up this board with no chip yet, upgrading from a 8310 so either is a huge upgrade, however debating between the 1600x and 2600x, will check the box when i get home to see if i have a sticker, if i don't have a sticker i have to get the 1600X is that correct?

I got the AMD FX 8310 when it was on sale for 99 bucks, i have a ASUS M5A99X EVO AM3+ AMD 990X, the chip is not on the supported list probably because its so new, will it work anyway? I emailed Asus and all the did was send me the supported CPU list which i had already looked at, i have not...
