I made an alternative build with the 12th gen intel;
CPU: Intel Core i5-12600K 3.7 GHz 10-Core Processor ($299.98 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 50.5 CFM CPU Cooler ($89.90 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z690-F GAMING WIFI ATX LGA1700 Motherboard ($399.99 @ Amazon)...
Honestly yup , it seems to be the best idea to start fresh and save the GPU.
Its weirdly hard to let go lol
I updated my original post for a new build. Since I'm starting school and saved the money I can now justify a new PC. Might as well enjoy it a month early too.
I think its ddr3ram I don't think my motherboard is compatible with DDR 4 RAM , I also edited my post to add more information.
I put a link but it disappeared.

My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-H97M-D3H so the most powerful CPU I can get is the i7 4790k before having to get a new motherboard then a new CPU.
Should I buy the i7 4790k for 420 Canadian and just switch...
I recently switched from a gtx 760 to a 1060 6 GB
I also replaced my ram from 8 GHz to 16
I'm still having trouble running games like bf 1
Do I need to upgrade my CPU?
