Wireless speed seems capped at 50mbps when wired goes up to double?

I recently upgraded my internet from 50mbps to 100mbps, and while wired tests indicate the speed is there, I find that my Asus RT-N56U only gives me up to 50mbps on wifi. Similarly, my ISP also provided what is apparently a strong AC wireless extender (Actiontec WEB6000Q) but I find that it too...

Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 And 980 Review: Maximum Maxwell

Very very impressive. Although I am also waiting on AMDs response because they often have a knack for taking what we thought was impressive value from nvidia, and making it look overpriced... Just look at the best GPUs for the money of the past few months.

Why is transfer speed between computers in LAN so slow?

It is literally a room away. The only thing blocking is a single wall (unless we are talking about a straight line path, in which case it passes through 2 layers of walls) as well as 5ish meters of space.

Why is transfer speed between computers in LAN so slow?

I currently have a setup involving an Asus RT-N56U acting as router, and an Actiontech V1000H, which was mind you, shoved down my throat by my ISP, acting as a modem/router combo in bridged mode. So I essentially have the Asus as my router. I have a desktop connected directly to the router via...

    4770K VS 4790K for gaming

There really isn't a debate to this. The 4790k is simply better in all regards. It is not like a situation where one is a 4 core CPU with higher clocks than a 6 core CPU. Here, both are 4 cores, each on the same architecture, and the 4790k has a higher clock rate. Therefore, it is technically...

Would a USB or PCI express wireless adapter be perferable in my situation?

I just did a bit more browsing and found a card which blows me away. Is it too good to be true? An AC card, PLUS bluetooth capabilities all crammed into the price tag of under 35 dollars. That just seems crazy to me...

Would a USB or PCI express wireless adapter be perferable in my situation?

I am in need of replacing my current wireless adapter because it has been very iffy and has been dropping my connection pretty frequently. I am currently eying 2 options, one of which is a PCI express card, and the other which connects via USB. The PCI express one is the TP-Link WDN4800 which I...

Ping has suddenly increased 4 times?

I've tried on several servers already, unless they all happen to have higher ping than the one my speedtest would use before.

Ping has suddenly increased 4 times?

I've done many speedtest.net tests, and have become accustom to seeing a ping under 20ms every time. And so because of that, when I start seeing ping results near 80, I start to wonder what might be the problem. This is the first speed test I've taken in a few weeks and these slower ping results...

Constant disconnects and holdups, but not due to router?

About a week ago, I started noticing that my computer would have a connection error every once in a while which would require me to disconnect and reconnect to my router to fix. I thought to myself, uh oh, my router is crapping out on me. However, as the week progressed, I soon realized that it...

Samsung Launches the Metal-Frame and 6.7mm Thick Galaxy Alpha

So it's in essence a slightly better built S5 with downgraded specs and as a result, a slimmer design. Meh. I would totally say take my money if it was fully metal backed while containing at the very least, similar specs to their flagship phones, but ehhhh.
