I RMA'd because my card apparently had more than one problem. So i got the new GPU and am already experiencing the same problem to a lesser degree, less overheating now and just the crashing. I'm thinking it could be software related but not really sure. Did you ever fix your issue?

I would suggest actually downgrading your nvidia geforce drivers, this helped significantly reduce a very similar problem for me. Also a good idea if you haven't solved this problem to try it in another pc set up.
