News RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 listed for $2,600 and $1,350 at Chinese retailer — leaked listing suggests Blackwell might see a price hike, at least in China

It did and they wanted to keep as much of that inflated pricing after the pandemic. It has not ended well for AMD given they are at less than 10% marketshare. It's hard to fathom given AMD had a blueprint to success from Ryzen but they completely ignore it in the GPU market. Either they are...

News RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 listed for $2,600 and $1,350 at Chinese retailer — leaked listing suggests Blackwell might see a price hike, at least in China

Oh please, no one actually got those cards at MSRP. Actual pricing was a massive increase. FYI Nvidia's refresh of the 3000 series was absolutely at an inflated MSRP to match market pricing.

News RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 listed for $2,600 and $1,350 at Chinese retailer — leaked listing suggests Blackwell might see a price hike, at least in China

We are already past this point. The 5080 is 50% of the die. For all intents and purposes it is lower mid-range. Even the 970 at $330 was 76% of the full die. People have seemingly forgot just how much better value things were back then. The market is a complete monopoly and prices are...

Review Asus ROG Azoth Extreme Review: $500

$500 and it doesn't even have hall effect switches. Judging by reviews the typing experience sounds nice but I don't see any gamers accepting the significantly higher latency that results for a fixed actuation point, no rapid trigger, and no rappy snappy. ASUS should have gone with a non-gamer...

News Vendor Confirms RTX 4070 Ti is a Resurrected RTX 4080 12GB

Agreed, 192-bit is budget to mainstream at best. This article is less journalism and more kissing Nvidia's rear. I've been around for awhile and Tom's is becoming worse and worse every year.

News AMD Graphics Cards Are the Better Value at Every Price Point

Did anyone ask? Do we really need the same comment plastered everyone on this website 10,000,000 times?

News Intel Responds to ZombieLoad and CacheOut Attacks

I'm going to take the side with the least assumptions. Right now Intel processors have far more vulnerabilities. Unless you can prove that AMD in fact has a ton of vulnerabilities we don't know about, you are assuming. Your assumptions do not stand up to fact. FYI that same logic can be...

Spectre Patch Causes 'Significant Slowdown' On Older OS, Chips

So how long did Intel exactly know about this issue? It entirely possible that Intel designed the chip with this flaw on purpose to get the extra performance. Imagine if the 2000 series had a 30% drop in performance. It puts them pretty close to AMD at the time in fact. These finding just...

    Best CPUs (Archive)

I've been coming to this site for 12 years now and I'm tired of the favoritism. Using Project Cars in your benchmark suite despite every other reviewer recommending it and now this. I was able to look past it up till now but this is ridiculous.

    Oculus Shuts Down Story Studio

For god's sake, just make an openVR standard already. I don't want this cool tech to die because everyone was playing exclusives.

Acer's Mixed Reality HMD, Hands On

It will be interesting to see the work applications for this device. Honestly we need an open-source framework for VR badly. Having certain apps only works for certain headsets is a big problem.

How much is my PC worth?

$300 - $350 is the value of the parts. Depending on the condition of the case and if you have windows operating correctly and ready to go, $400. That value is if you are selling to someone who just needs a ready to go computer. That CPU is going to bottleneck in many games.
