    Possible faulty pci-e slot?

A 290x can run on a 750watt PSU. The issue sounds like signs a failing graphics card would show. Black screens, drivers/hardware not being detected, random artifacts (black squares popping up). it could be that both are failing. But try all other pci-e 16x slots. It could be that the psu is...

    780 Upgrade Path

INTRODUCTION{ Iv'e recently obtained an NVIDIA stock 780, and an FX-8350. I got both of these for free. I have the 780 core clock overclocked to a stable 1070 MHZ. But the 780 doesn't perform as good as i had hoped it would. I mainly play FO4 on ultra and I'm getting between 30-60 FPS (Mainly...

New PC build wont turn on

1-Make sure the motherboard isnt seated too tightly onto the case, standoffs (the gold prongs). 2-Make sure the 4-Pin or 8-Pin(depending on motherboard) CPU Power cable is inserted into the 4/8-Pin receptacle on the motherboard (should be near the cpu) 3.Make sure the ram isnt faulty by testing...

New PC Build won't post and A6 Error code

According to my research, it looks like just plugging the HDMI into the GPU should allow your pc to boot. I also found this: "Wow... I just had an "are you serious?!" moment. I had a sinking suspicion that the A6 code was really Ab (AB), which means the BIOS is waiting for my input. The real...

    Can motherboards cause hardware failure...

" I put the thing on " What does this exactly mean? Did you turn it on and it worked that time? Regardless, it does sound like something is wrong with the motherboard. Many things can keep a computer from POSTING. So when it comes to an motherboard as old as yours, the problems are already...

    Loose motherboard in build

As long as the motherboard is not going to fall down or anything you should be fine. But just make sure everything is secure. Dont ever screw the motherboard to tightly on standoffs because that can cause problems. Just as long as the motherboard is seated on the standoffs you should be all good.

    Upgrading my Current PC

The GPU will work but its not what i would recommend. The GPU just meets the minimum requirements for fallout 4 The minimum GPU required is- "NVIDIA GTX 550 Ti 2GB/AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB or equivalent" The 270x is slightly faster than the 7870. So i personally think the GTX 960 is worth it. And...

    Acer Aspire 4551 mobo

Explain what you mean by "burnt". And since its a laptop, only the manufacturers motherboard will fit inside of it due to the fact that the motherboard is specifically made to fit the case and support the PSU.
