Thanks for your advice, besides the circuitry, I'm also wondering if the LCD 'bulbs' will continue to degrade over time even if they're not powered on? Sorry I'm not too technical so don't understand much about LCD lifespan, just had a prior experience where an unused LCD started 'bubbling'...
